District Meeting

Governor Len Tilney presided at the Board meeting on February 11. Bob Brown, International Vice-President from Canada, attended. The East Utica Club finished in 5th place. A workshop on the NOW program designed to increase membership was held. Members are encouraged to enlist new members. Brian Bogan and John Damiano have each started new charter clubs in the area. The District Convention will be held in Syracuse on August 11-12-13. The oratorical and essay contests will take place.

Meeting Report

The guest speaker was Dick Chancia from Adelphia Communications. He has been in the Public Relations business for many years. With a mix of humor, he explained the complex and time-consuming job of obtaining and producing TV advertisements.

Utica College Basketball Game

Thanks to the teachers and club members who chaperoned the students from Albany Street School to attend the Utica College Basketball game. The kids had a great time. The Junior Raiders exhibited their skills at half-time. The club may host a party for the Junior Raiders.

Concession Stand Report

There may be two or three additional playoff games at Proctor High SChool. If any club members are interested in working at the concession stand, please contact Diane Waskiewicz.

Next Meeting

February 22, 6:30 PM: The club will sponsor Respect for Law Day. The club will honor George Sabo.

March 5, 4:30-6:30 PM:
JOOI ice skating at the Clinton Arena. If you are interested in chaperoning and skating, call Diane Waskiewicz.
March 21, 6:30 PM:
The club will honor the Proctor High School Boys Basketball Team. The dinner is planned for the Radisson Hotel.
April 12, 6:30:
The club will honor the Students-of-the-Year for Utica's Elementary Schools. The dinner will be at the Radisson Hotel.
